A business leader with over 45 years of experience in the planning, design, installation, operation, and transformation of an extensive range of communications systems, including wireline, broadcast radio, microwave, and satellite technologies. Phil has experience working in diverse and international markets, managing negotiations and partnerships. A proven leader providing direction, motivation, and innovation to ensure that teams perform to the best of their abilities and deliver consistently.
Phil previously was Vice President of Technical Integration at Liberty Global Europe, where he was responsible for the technical management of the implementation of an IMS-based telephony platform and associated systems in Liberty Global’s UK operation, Virgin Media, required to replace the legacy circuit-switched telephone network.
In this role, he was also involved in the completion of technical due diligence and subsequent integration of potential acquisitions across the European footprint of Liberty Global.
As Vice President of Engineering for Liberty Global International, Phil held several responsibilities including the negotiation of technical agreements and maintaining the partner relationships for a proposed Broadband joint venture in Beijing, China. Additionally, he supported Liberty’s Latin American operations in the development and launch of Broadband services and negotiation of supply contracts.
Prior responsibilities have included the launch and operation of voice-over cable services in Europe and New Zealand and the planning, design, and implementation of cable TV and telephony networks in the UK.
